I really love the movies from the Golden Years of Hollywood and fell under their spell as a teenager in Australia. When most of my friends could be found at the beach on the weekends you would have found me sitting in the stalls at the Cremorne Orpheum, the Manly Silver Screen on South Steyne or the old Balgowlah cinema. This was back in the late 70’s when it cost under a dollar to see a film and you always had a couple of Loony Toons thrown in as a bonus. When my friends were going to parties on Saturday nights I was badgering Dad to take us to the drive-in…remember those?
I’m really into music as well and always have been - some of the most beautiful music of the 20th century, and even today, has come from the score of a good film…even some not so good films.
Here I will just ramble on about anything and everything to do with movies and music in general. Expect lot’s of trivia, juicy scandals, news from the past and the present and anything else I feel like writing about. Classical music buffs will find the visit worthwhile too!
