Annie get Your Gun - a bit much in the morning

My little boy, he’s three, is sitting watching Annie Get Your Gun at the moment. Not a bad film but at the same time it is not one of my favourite musicals. The reason being I am not a real fan of Betty Hutton and her rather over the top style - she’s a bit much to take at ten thirty in the morning…

Here’s some trivia though: did you know that the role of Annie Oakley was originally cast with Judy Garland?

Judy had begun the early stages of filming but her well known personal problems caused many problems on set and after just a couple of weeks she was fired and Hutton was re-cast in the role. I would love to have seen Judy in this role as I am a fan of her’s!

In the movie Annie Get Your Gun, what is the name of Annie’s gun?

  2. admin Says:

Annie refers to her gun as ‘Grandma’ early on in the film, just after she sings ‘Doin what comes naturally’.
